Joel Dahms, MS, is a biomedical writer with a master's degree in neuroscience from UCLA and a master's degree in technical communication from the University of Washington. He also teaches anatomy and physiology at a community college in Seattle.

Susan Swartz Woods, MD, MPH, received an MD at Oregon Health & Science University (OSHU) and a Master of Public Health at the University of Washington, and completed a research fellowship at the VA Medical Center in Seattle. She has practiced general internal medicine in Massachusetts and Oregon, was Associate Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency program at Maine Medical Center. Following ten years of work linking public health services and clinical systems in Maine, Susan is now a post-doctoral fellow at OHSU in the Dept. of Medical Informatics and Clinical Epidemiology.
