Lyme Disease Guide - When should I seek medical care?

If you have been bitten by a tick and you start experiencing symptoms, you should see your doctor. If you do not have symptoms, you probably do not need to see a doctor as most tick bites do not transit disease. Also, if you have Lyme disease symptoms such as the erythema migrans rash and you recently spent time in tick-infested areas, you should see the doctor even if you do not remember being bitten by a tick. In either case, if your initial symptoms go away it is still a good idea to see the doctor because Lyme disease may stay in the body and cause complications years in the future.
