The symptoms of sinusitis include:

  • nasal congestion
  • drainage of a thick, yellow or greenish mucus down the back of the throat (post nasal drip)
  • facial pain, tenderness, and swelling in the temples, cheeks, nose, or forehead, or behind the eyes
  • redness of the skin over the sinus
  • aching in your upper jaw and teeth or in the ears
  • difficulty breathing through your nose
  • reduced sense of smell or taste
  • cough
  • bad breath (halitosis)
  • fatigue
  • nausea
  • sore throat
  • fever
  • headache

The signs and symptoms of chronic sinusitis are similar to acute sinusitis, except they last longer and often include much greater fatigue; also, chronic sinusitis does not usually cause fever.
