The symptoms of sinusitis include:
- nasal congestion
- drainage of a thick, yellow or greenish mucus down the back of the throat (post nasal drip)
- facial pain, tenderness, and swelling in the temples, cheeks, nose, or forehead, or behind the eyes
- redness of the skin over the sinus
- aching in your upper jaw and teeth or in the ears
- difficulty breathing through your nose
- reduced sense of smell or taste
- cough
- bad breath (halitosis)
- fatigue
- nausea
- sore throat
- fever
- headache
The signs and symptoms of chronic sinusitis are similar to acute sinusitis, except they last longer and often include much greater fatigue; also, chronic sinusitis does not usually cause fever.
