Sinusitis Guide - Who is at risk for sinusitis?

Anyone can get sinusitis, but several risk factors make developing the condition more likely, including:

  • Anatomic abnormalities of the nose or sinuses.
  • Obstruction of the nose or sinuses (e.g. trauma, polyps).
  • Allergies or asthma.
  • Exposure to mold or airborne fungi.
  • Immunodeficiency.
  • Exposure to cigarette smoke.
